2021-01-14 | Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge: LALIZAS premium lifesaving equipment was a valuable ally at the toughest rowing race in the world!
It was an honor for LALIZAS to support “Row 4 Cancer” and “Atlantic Dutchesses” at the world's toughest row, the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge!
Today, this fascinating journey came to an end for Mark Slats and Kai Wiedmer, as the “Row 4 Cancer” team managed to finish first, setting foot on the shore of Antigua after 33 days at sea.
Mark and his teammate Kai trusted LALIZAS ISO RACING Life raft for the participation in this challenging rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean, ensuring their safety at sea, without being disturbed from their goal: to conquer the top!
It is significant to note that “Row 4 Cancer” raised money for the Maarten van der Weijden Foundation- which LALIZAS has also supported directly in the past - and more specifically for childhood cancer research.
In few days the "Atlantic Dutchesses" team will have successfully completed this major feat of rowing for 5000 km from the Canary Island La Gomera, to the Caribbean Island Antigua, on a 9-meter boat.
Four Dutch women, Iris Noordzij, Melissa Vooren, Renate de Backere and Melanie Breij are trying to raise awareness on heart issues that women face, raising money to support scientific research that focuses on heart disease in women.
LALIZAS, the leading Life Saving Equipment Manufacturer, gladly provided its premium lifesaving equipment, such as Theta Inflatable Lifejacket and ISO Racing Life raft in order to ensure women's safety.
We are more than happy that we contributed in our own way to this huge challenge of rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, proving once again that for us, safety at sea is a top priority.
As we keep on saying, for us, Safety is not just a product; it is an ongoing process.
